Improve Your Athletic Performance

Updated: Jul 8, 2022

Are you training for the next Iron man? Just trying to keep in good physical condition or lose some weight? Either way, enhancing athletic performance is important to many of our clients at IV Drip London. Competitive athletes push their bodies to the limit, consuming large amounts of vital nutrients as a normal part of metabolism. The body needs ample amounts of these nutrients in order to grow new muscle tissue and decrease fat stores.

Metabolism converts carbohydrates, fats, and proteins found in food into energy through a complex series of chemical reactions. These reactions are catalysed by enzymes.

Metabolic enzymes require vitamin and mineral cofactors. These include:

  1. Vitamin C

  2. B-complex

  3. Magnesium

  4. Zinc

Why is intravenous vitamin therapy being used by so many athletes?

IV nutrient therapy helps athletes to:

  1. Boost performance and increase strength

  2. Reduce fatigue and shorten recovery time

  3. Replenish and hydrate the body after strenuous exercise.

Which types of IV vitamin therapy are best for enhancing athletic performance?

Strictly speaking, although we usually use the term, “IV vitamin therapy,” the treatments we prescribe include not only vitamins but also minerals and other nutrients – such as amino acids and other vitally important organic molecules. The intravenous nutrient therapies we find most helpful for athletic performance enhancement include:

  1. Alpha Infusion

  2. L-Glutathione Infusion

The use of intravenous glutathione for this purpose is based on recent studies showing that administering IV N-acetylcysteine – which is a precursor to glutathione – both increases stamina and delays fatigue during strenuous, prolonged exercise in endurance-trained individuals. The logical conclusion is that by giving IV glutathione, we should be able to get a better and more direct result.
